Purchase ingredients. You will need a premade cream base and a few different shades of unblended mica. These can both be purchased from a wholesale makeup supplier like Monave, which specializes in selling products for people interested in creating their own makeup. The unblended mica is what gives the concealer its color, so make sure to choose mica in colors near your skin tone. Oriental beige mica mixed in with some splendid gold mica will result in a shade that matches warm skin tones like beige and tan. Adjusting the amount of Oriental beige will work for fair and light skin tones. Sienna, bronze and sienna fine are good shade choices for darker skin tones.

Grind the unblended mica in a coffee grinder to break apart lumps. You can also use the back of a spoon to crush the mica into a smooth powder. Another option is to place the mica in a ziplock bag and seal it shut. Using your fingers, crush any large clumps until they've all been smoothed out.

Place about 2 tablespoons of cream base into a plastic mixing bowl. Then add about 1 tablespoon of the mica powder and stir to blend. No matter what you're using to measure the ingredients, use 2 parts of the cream base and 1 part of the mica powder.

With the electric mixer on low speed, gently beat the cream and powder mixture until the color is completely uniform. This is to ensure that the pigment mixes in thoroughly with the cream base; otherwise you would be left with a blotchy and unevenly colored concealer. About 5 to 10 minutes should be sufficient for the cream and powder to blend well with each other.

Using a spatula, transfer the finished concealer into a glass or plastic jar for storage. Use a concealer makeup brush to apply the concealer on top of blemishes and dark under-eye circles.
